The First Step
- Aspyn Moon
Stop motion animation <The first step> is based on my first novel <Cheers for the hairless skin>. It is the opening scene of the novel and shows Jiun’s journey until getting out of the hotel room.
Jiun, who was once a journalist, was injected into a gorilla’s body by a terrible incident while covering a criminal gang. It's been 14 days since he opened his eyes as a gorilla in a small hotel room.
The hotel room is too small for the huge body of a gorilla. Although he can't stay here forever, he is not ready to face the real world as a gorilla. However, he must get out of the room to search and get his human body back. He is taking the heaviest step in his life towards the world.

Love Simply Is
- Jenna May
I believe that everything in the universe is one, we are merely a small part of nature, yet many of us live as if we own nature, that nature somehow works for us. We take advantage of the land and the creatures we share it with, we take more than we need and leave the rest to suffer. With the disconnect that we have created between ourselves and nature it's easy to forget where we stand within the universe. I wanted to convey this ideal with multiple images combined as one, while also reminding myself that I too need to get in touch with nature more often as well.
As we grow to realize our smallness we are open to a kind of enlightenment, appreciating the time we have and the people dear to us, we change as our perspectives shift and we learn that Love, simply is.

The UnderWorld
- Vic Lee
The UnderWorld is a concept art project of "Under", a world setting in a city where humans kept building upwards, and the hieght of where you lived also showed your social status. The city eventually was split into three layers, the topmost the elegant, artificial, and clean Crown; the middle the busy, bustling, and run-down Atlas; and the bottom most, the abandoned, forgotten, and fading-away ruins of the Undercity.

In the Cerveau
- Tula Moore
As a child I struggled with overstimulation. I wanted to share that experience with others and show what I have felt in moments of sensory overload. To create a sense of chaos and confusion, and stimulate many of the audience's senses, I used not only visuals, but also sounds and a strobe light, which used to be one of my particular triggers. To make it more unique to my own experience, I used quotes, lyrics and visuals that are all important to me or that have a tendency to get stuck in my head. French is intertwined with English because I grew up in a bilingual household, and the two languages often get mixed up in my thoughts.
To emphasize the contrast between chaos and calm, I designed the outside to be simple, and black on white, whereas the interior is complex with many layers, and is white on black.
Materials: cardboard, poster board, book pages, acrylic paint, duct tape, glue, speakers, recorded sound, strobe lights
Projection
- Omid Erfani
My work explores one of Carl Jung’s theories named the shadow.
There are dark parts of us that are hidden in our unconsciousness.
The mind projects these inferiorities, weaknesses, and repressed parts of us onto others, which in turn challenges the person’s ego and personality.
In accepting and actualizing our shadow, we manifest a stronger mind. By knowing what goes on in our minds we can make a better foothold in the world for ourselves and others. But in opposing it, our repressed side can devour our world and we will not be able to differentiate our flaws from what is out there.
I chose this subject to bring to light parts of us that we do not think about often. These aspects can be stressful and aggravating if we deny them. But in accepting them, one can become more aware of their actions, morals, and choices.

Talk / Co-exist

As a content explorer, it is so interesting to see the different ways to create art. This is my YINYANG character who has a bunch of curiousities for the world. I get inspired by artists like Hajime Sorayama who uses traditional techniques of watercolour created futuristic and surreal characters that were soon discovered by the Dior luxury brand. I took steps up to bridge a brand-new collaboration by transforming 2-dimentional drawing to a 3-dimensional sculptural installation. Among the inspiration from many multimedia collaborative art experiments, I decided to present my own imaginative character in multimedia to reveal its potentials in both a traditional/Chinese literal painting art form and a non-traditional/2D cut out animation method.
Materials: Chinese painting and 2D animation
Visible and Invisible
- Masaya Nakamura
My project, Visible and Invisible are three drawings using black pen and glow ink. People have some stereotypes about anything no matter whether it is true or not. I always have a weird feeling about Japanese culture that we tend not to express our true self. I would like to express that it is not everything you can understand from your eyes. These drawings are showing the difference between people seeing the picture in natural light and black light. There are sometimes huge differences between what you see and what you can't see.

Before June Ends
- Carolyn Wilson
My project is a mock up poster. I have always been looking forward to making a movie poster of my own, but it never happened because I was too busy studying. In this project, I wanted to give my self a chance to draw. I do what I like to do in this project, I like to make or come up with character designs. Once I created them, I started to imagine things including the environment and clothing design. Moreover, I am interested in designing a whole page. I like to play with colors and find a perfect match for an object or subject. Also, I found designing is really fun, I get to choose things and match them. It did take a lot of time but I enjoyed it. This project motivated me more to create something that I have never done before. I hope I can do better artworks for my portfolio collection.

Reality
- Sam Hasdee
These 3 pictures are a reflection of society in my country. What we see, what we learn or have been told by our parents or on social media about the society we live in sometimes is not always right. I used to live in a country that was in the process of developing. Most people there are middle class to lower class. The economy there is not great and because of that, corruption and theft are big problems. Everyday, I would see people shooting each other because of money and sometimes they think the best choice for them to get out of that place is to hang themselves. These 3 pictures represent and are a reflection of the society that I use to live in and how I see the world around me.
